Catherine Underhill

Catherine Underhill a British oboist and cor anglais player. Her work thus far has taken her all over the United Kingdom and Europe where she has performed in venues such as St John Smith's Square and Cadogan Hall.

Catherine is a masters student at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Helen Roll Scholar and Trinity Laban London Scholar where she is studying with Ruth Bolister, David Thomas and Alan Garner (cor anglais). She studied the oboe with Andrew Knights at University of Southampton (First Class BA Hons). She has studied and taken masterclasses with Patrick Flanagan, Adrian Rowlands and David Theodore. She regularly plays in pit bands across the UK for musicals and operas. 

Catherine is oboist of King Charles Winds, a wind ensemble based in London and the Hartley Duo (oboe and harp duet) who have performed a number of recitals, at events and for recording sessions.

Catherine enjoys engaging in diverse styles of music, recently commissioning new works for bass clarinet and cor anglais (composer, Peter Nagle), solo cor anglais (composer, Dominic Veall) and oboe and harp (composer, Davood Jafari). She is also co-director of Collective31 UK Contemporary Music and Arts.

Acton Hill Church
Corner of Woodland Avenue, High Street, Acton, Greater London, W3 9BU
​We are on the corner of the Uxbridge Road and Gunnersbury Lane, W3, opposite Acton police station. Ten minutes walk form Acton Town tube station – District (Ealing Broadway) and Piccadilly lines. Front main entrance is on Gunnersbury Lane, turn right and walk down to the T-junction, turn right and the church is a twenty yards on your right.

Parking in Morrisons’ car park diagonally opposite (up to 1 hour before 4pm and unlimited thereafter). Street parking on Steyne Road (opposite), limited parking in Woodlands Avenue down the side of the church. Beware of the dropped curb at the end as parking tickets are issued on Sundays!
