Petar Dimov is a Bulgarian pianist and composer based in London, described as “a poet of sound.” He obtained a Master of Performance degree with Distinction at the Royal College of Music, a student of Norma Fisher. He was born in 1994 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in a family of folklore musicians. He began playing the piano at the age of 3 with Svetlana Koseva until his graduation with distinction and award for the highest academic and artistic achievements in 2014. Petar has taken part in masterclasses with many leading pianists and has won numerous prestigious prizes:

2002 the 'Young Virtuoso' prize (Music and Earth International Competition), Sofia.
2004 2nd prize (International Youth Music Festival-Competition), Dobrich and Albena.
2006 1st prize (Nicolai Rubinstein International Competition), Paris
Carl Filtsch (International Competition), Romania.
2007 Grand Prix (International Competition of Young Pianists), Belgrade
 1st prize (Evangelina Tijarri International Piano Competition), Larnaca.
2008 2nd prize (International Competition for Japanese and Bulgarian Music) Sofia,
1st prize (International Music Competition 'Citta Di Moncalieri'), Turin
3rd prize (International Competition of Piano Rotaract-Rotary) Palma de Mallorca.

In 2013 two prizes from the Union of the Bulgarian Composers and the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture.

Petar has been a soloist of the ‘Mixtet’ Chamber ensemble and the ‘Dobrin Petkov’ Youth Orchestra. He has also performed Prokofiev’s Second Piano Concerto as a soloist of the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Dian Tchobanov in 2014. He has performed at the Steinway Hall, St. James’ Piccadilly, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, Austrian Cultural Forum, Waltham Abbey, St. Mary’s Perivale, Pallant House Gallery and St. Mary Abbots. In addition, he has given solo recitals in Athens, Crete, Edirne, Istanbul, Volos, Sofia and his native Plovdiv.
As a composer, Petar has worked with Nikolay Stoykov, (Bulgarian composer and student of Pancho Vladigerov and Dmitri Shostakovich). He has composed for various instruments and ensembles. His orchestral composition Laniakea was recorded remotely by nearly fifty musicians during lockdown and will receive its official release later in 2022.

​We are on the corner of the Uxbridge Road and Gunnersbury Lane, W3, opposite Acton police station. Ten minutes walk form Acton Town tube station – District (Ealing Broadway) and Piccadilly lines. Front main entrance is on Gunnersbury Lane, turn right and walk down to the T-junction, turn right and the church is a twenty yards on your right.

Parking in Morrisons’ car park diagonally opposite (up to 1 hour before 4pm and unlimited thereafter). Street parking on Steyne Road (opposite), limited parking in Woodlands Avenue down the side of the church. Beware of the dropped curb at the end as parking tickets are issued on Sundays!
