Pianists Giulia Semerano and Filippo Di Bari met in Italy while studying under the guidance of Sergio De Simone, and pursued further studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where they are now based. They participated in festivals and master classes with renowned musicians such as Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Martino Tirimo, Benedetto Lupo, Gabriele Baldocci, Ilaria Maurri among others. Recipients of several prizes and scholarships, Giulia and Filippo regularly perform in important venues across Europe as soloists and in different chamber music groups.
Sharing very similar musical views and a strong commitment to chamber music, they recently started a collaboration as a piano duo, and are presently working on the masterpieces written for this intimate ensemble, as well as lesser known works from the XX and XXI century. In 2012 they were among the founders of the Ensemble NuovaMusica, with whom they gave première performances of works by living Italian composers under the baton of Mauro Bonifacio.
Future engagements will bring them to perform across England and Scotland.
